EMF output, or electromotive force, is one of the critical characteristics of thermocouple wire.  Our conductor is manufactured to some of the tightest EMF specifications in the industry.  We test and select from different heats to find the conductor that is best for our customers’ requirements.  And we often blend different heats in stranded constructions, to make a finished product whose EMF output is better than that of the individual heats.

Some suppliers guarantee an EMF match only between the positive and negative legs that they sell together, as a pair.  But every reel of thermocouple wire that we supply meets standard EMF tolerances for the individual leg.  That means that any reel of our positive wire will match any reel of our negative wire of the same calibration – regardless of when it was purchased.

For our customers, that means savings – through more efficient inventory management and lower scrap rates.

All stranded constructions can be sealed with a silicone compound to provide anticapillary protection.
